If you look closely at the bottom of the page under the picture of the Judge it is written that a typsy bystander asked a pretty young woman," who would be at the lecture "and that the bar tender asked for some leaflets and gave them out to his customers.Surely old Rutherford would feel well at home with all this going on.

this quote from the watchtower concerns the release of judge rutherford's book children in 1941.. now, calling the book "the lord's provided instrument" sounds to me to be saying the book was inspired, just like the books in the bible.. apparently at that time, the jws considered judge rutherford as their direct communication channel with jehovah himself!.

in defense of the Holy Trinity

my husband is studying with the witnesses (he's not one of them yet), and is totally buying into the idea that god, jesus and the holy spirit are all separate, not (as i've tried to explain) separate, but also one in the trinity.
i have pointed out the scriptures in john that reference god as the word, and then jesus as the word later.

You can argue about the nature of Jesus untill you are blue in the face but think about this; He created everything and does everything that God does now if that does not make him God I don't know what does, also add that to the fact that according to the bible there is only one God (with a large G) .
The alternative ,as the Witlesses believe,gives you Two Gods who are worshipped.I remember back in the early sixties the Jdub book Make Sure of All Things had to be replaced because in it they tried to make out that creature worship was wrong until some one pointed out that Jesus was created, according to the Watchtower doctrine, and I don't think they could make their mind up whether Jesus should be worshipped or not.
Personally I think Jehovah changed his name to Jesus because Jehovah got a lot of bad press through the years and needed a new brand image at the time.That is why John says, He, meaning Jesus,was begotten , notice he doesn't say he was created.
So you pays your money and you takes your choice only don't give it to the Wacktower.

Husband talking about having kids, reading awake to me, keeps asking ???
by cognac inso, first he calls me at work, we've been getting along fine, and asks me the % of how much i want to be in the truth.
i told him 50/50.
i like the spiritual aspect of it, the people, etc.

Do not let your children go anywhere near the Kingdumb Hall.If you want to teach them Christianity take them to a main stream church for a balanced religious education.
I would say that taking them near a Witless meeting place is like letting them play near a motorway, very dangerous. It would be a good idea to suggest to your husband that before you have children together that both of you go to one or two of the main stream churches to see how they compare with the Jdubs.Go together for some other religious instruction you can tell him that it can always be rejected if it's not what you want.If he is afraid to take that route ask him is his faith so weak that it won't stand up to comparison first hand.
Think of all the GENERATIONS of children that have been born to the J Witnesses, who are now old, that have spent their lives in futile persute of a make believe promise.Think of all those wasted lives that could have been spent doing something really worthwhile.

by Crumpet inwhen i was 9 i wanted to be daisy duke from the dukes of hazzard, but had to put aside the dream when i realised my legs weren't going to ever get any longer.. when i was 12 i wanted to be ghandi, but realised wars wouldnt stop because i missed breakfast.. when i was 16 i decided that by leaving the borg and living fast and hard enough being alice cooper was achievable.. now i'm 32 i think i'd quite like to have the sensuous, striking confidence and certainty of helen mirren when i grow up.. who did you want to be and why?.

HLC talks to cease
by dozy init has long been the practise for hlc members to give occasional (usually annually) public & special talks and local needs items on blood & related issues at meetings.
these were often quite well organised with powerpoint presentations , handouts and open q & a session.. as of jan 2008 , the wts has written to all hlc members telling them that they can no longer do this & has written to bodies of elders telling them that they can no longer invite brothers to give talks , especially concerning the "advance medical directive document".. a hlc friend tells me that the wts apparently are further wanting to distance themselves from possible legal action and are also concerned that some hlc members are putting their own slant on the wts "conscience matters"..

It looks as if the Society of Blind Leaders is trying to wash the blood of human sacrifice from off their hands. It is more difficult than they imagine because their past record shows they are well and truly guilty.They can run but they can't hide their blood guilt will stand up to the forensics.
Their crimes of causing death by deception will not go away.
Their crimes might haunt them in death .Charles Dickens might have been right when he wrote that as a warning to Scrooge he was visited by the ghost in chains who said " I forged them link by link while in life."
How many chain links have been forged on to their followers by the Watchtower Society?
